Campaigning in Bakersfield in the flashlight hours!!!
MUSINGS ON MID-TERMS
Greetings one and all,
I am writing this on the plane to Michigan on 10/28, to support Abdul in the upcoming elections. My early taxi drive to the airport was brightened when the cheerful taxi driver inquired if I was going to Detroit on holiday. Not exactly! I replied, and when he heard I was working for Abdul’s campaign, he literally cheered! “Abdul – he’s my man!” Who knows what will happen in this election with the racism and vast amounts of $ and false information pouring into this campaign but I know many others are donating, ballot curing, poll watching, phone banking, writing postcards, reminding relatives and friends to vote in these key elections and I am so grateful for all this energy. We have seen what can happen in Hungary, Brazil and Serbia if folks get moving and whether you love the democrats or not, anything is better than the endless corruption we have now.
