SUGGESTIONS:
1. Playing with the unusual ways hummingbirds fly, what can this illuminate in terms of joint space and the magical figure of 8. Explore the flow from internal and external rotation in shoulder joint, standing, prone and within poses. What happens when you hum and/ flap your wings rapidly? What occurs around the joint and within that sacred joint space?
2. Check into your extraordinary heart during your practice. Listen to its beats and how it adapts and responds to different activity and stimuli.
3 At the peak of a back-bending pose, play with not only your “beak” but also the extension of your very long tongue reaching for nectar! eg Warrior 1, sphinx, up dog
4. Consider the mythological, religious and cultural imagery and associations within this family and how this could impact your perspectives and inspire your practice.
