12.30pm Join us for a long fluid active asana practice which will invite the practitioner into their yin side. We will begin in the womb or hara and explore imagery and asana expression that both heals and revitalizes the feminine spirit. Our time together will encourage seeing the cyclical, the liquid, the intuitive in our practice and lives. Although we will use some more challenging poses such as backbends and inversions there will always be options for those not practicing these poses.
3pm Self care in challenging times. This afternoon session will begin with a meditation that takes us through our feminine story. We will then discuss (with support material and handouts) how yoga can support a woman at all times in their lives and how we can modify and expand our practice to meet our different health and cycle needs. There will be a short section on Ayurveda, the alternative medical backdrop to yoga, and a presentation on how some of this ancient wisdom can enhance a womens vitality and voice.
The day will end with restorative poses and a meditation, particularly nourishing to the deep feminine in all of us.
Suitable for a wide range of practitioner who has at least one year of experience in yoga practice. Particularly helpful to those who work with women in all aspects of their inner and outer health and yoga teachers wishing to craft their classes to meet womens needs.
