Mary will be contributing to Michelle Marlahan's teacher training in Sacramento.
“Drop Down, Drop Back, Drop In!” Some spaces may be available for other trainees/teachers/serious practitioners to join us.
As we move deeper into Fall, we can explore moving into the back body, into the lesser known more intuitive part of ourselves, rooting ourselves into the earth, and release the firey-ness of our eyes and the forward propelling energy of summer and these troubling agitating times. This day together we will explore through a long active asana practice ways of bringing ourselves back into balance, and letting the buzziness of daily life, social media, even deluded notions of where we should be in practice or in our teaching! fade into the background. We will bring to the foreground our deep yearning for presence, community and creativity as we begin to move into the darker time of the year. In the second part of this day, we will consider how simple Buddhist techniques can help support our asana practice and teaching, and be a continuous whole, bringing us out of fragmentation and fear into compassionate engaged day to day living.
This workshop is designed for trainees and teachers in mind but is suitable for anyone with a deep regular practice. Options will be given for those not doing inversions or more active backbends. If you are not part of Michelle's trainings - current or past, it is important to contact her directly with some information about your yoga background. Space is limited
10-1 Meditation followed by Active Asana Practice
