"When your eyes are tired the world is tired also. When your vision has gone, no part of the world can find you. Time to go into the dark where the night has eyes to recognize its own...” David Whyte
We propel ourselves forward into endless tomorrows and agendas, our eyes tense and often narrowly focused. Can we use the imagery of the back body, to relax back and explore even our most energetic asana with quiet eyes and a broader, calmer perspective? In this way we open to possibilities that have been hidden and the visionary nature of the sixth Chakra, the retina of being.
This daylong workshop includes meditation, active and passive asana, inversions/options to inversions, and an array of eye explorations that help shift the awareness into the core and to the back body, revitalising and expanding our vista of asana and life.
10.00am - 1.00pm: Long active asana session which will begin with meditation
2.30 - 4.30pm: Short discussion regarding these themes “off” and “on” the mat, followed by quieter restorative practice and final metta meditation.
Suitable for teachers, trainees and a wide variety of practitioner. Not suitable for beginning students (minimum one year asana practice).
